Chaffery Theatre

OB Engineering Group was engaged to assess the structural adequacy of the existing roof structure at Chaffey Theatre, Renmark, for the application of new suspended loads. The scope involved detailed structural analysis of 12-metre-span steel rafters and transfer beams supporting curtain and pulley systems, along with certification for additional concentrated loads applied to the rafters. Structural modelling and code-based load assessments were undertaken in accordance with relevant Australian Standards. The project was delivered in collaboration with DIX Engineering, who were responsible for the mechanical design and load application systems.
